My name is Tom Brinkel, I am a German-trained Chef with a strong connection to New Zealand. After finishing my 3-year apprenticeship. I worked in several different high-end restaurants and hotels throughout Germany, and in Wellington New Zealand.
In the last few years, I have worked in the Intercontinental Hotel, at Parliament, and at Te Papa as the Head Pastry Chef. For me, it's all about investing attention into one thing so you can make that thing look and taste amazing. I am passionate to meet the challenge of perfection in order to create something of beauty.
My motto is "Any cake for any occasion". My forefathers back in Germany have been master bakers for centuries and it is an honour to continue my family tradition in making the most outstanding cakes here in NZ.
